Main Speaker Bio:

Glen Ackerman is a Texas based, bassist, composer, and educator. Additionally he is the band leader for his own fusion jazz trio. As a performer, he has tremendous experience in a great many genres. Glen has shared the stage with nationally acclaimed artists such as; Randy Brecker, Bob Sheppard, Eric Marienthal, Ralph Bowen, Bill Charlap, and Will Kennedy.

Much of his recording experience is attributed to artists working with the independent record company Blue Bamboo Music. Additionally his credits as a local on-call session musician are too numerous to list. Glen has composed, recorded, and performed with regional artists such as; Kristine Mills, Cody Joe Tillman, Henry Darragh, Woody Witt, Paul English, and Dance Houston.

His compositions/arrangements have been performed at the Moore’s Opera House by the University of Houston Jazz Orchestra, Miller Outdoor Theater, and HCC Performing Arts Center by various ensembles.

Glen graduated from the University of Houston and is formerly a professor of music at Houston Community College. He is presently a professor of music at the University of Houston's Moores College of Music. His music is available through most digital platforms.

Musician Bio:

Petesimple is a dynamic fusion of rock, funk, jazz, and soul, captivating audiences with their electrifying performances and genre-blending sound. Formed in 1999, the band is led by singer/songwriter Pete Lippincott, a proud member of the Tesuque Pueblo tribe, who infuses his indigenous heritage into their music. Supported by many collaborations with other musicians, and the vibrant Houston music community, Petesimple has toured the US and England, performed at SXSCongress during SXSW for over 20 years, and built a reputation for their passionate artistry. Committed to authenticity and connection, they continue to push musical boundaries and inspire listeners worldwide.
